The brand-new Barclays Center in Brooklyn will have to wait a little while longer to see it’s first action. That’s because no higher an authority than New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has postponed Thursday’s Knicks-Nets game, thanks to the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.
“I’m sorry about the game,” he said. “I was looking forward to it. I was going to take my daughter to it.”
No word yet on when the game will be rescheduled, but for now, the Nets get to take on the Toronto Raptors to open their new palace at Atlantic Yards.
